Overview

The Sr. Director, Global Market Access is responsible for developing and leading all Market Access related activities for current commercial product(s) and future pipeline products at Hemanext. This includes pricing and reimbursement strategy, evidence generation, payer marketing and account management, contracting, negotiations and government pricing reports.

This position, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, will develop, optimize, and execute global access and pricing strategies. In addition, the role will be responsible for establishing Hemanexts’ approach to achieving market access for its products as well as assessing innovative opportunities to ensure a successful value proposition. The Sr. Dir. will serve as a critical member of the Global Commercial Leadership team and is expected to work across functions, regions to deliver best-in-class results.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the development of global access and pricing strategies to maximize the value of Hemanext products while ensuring widespread patient access by overseeing global access, HTA assessment and pricing strategies
  • Lead the development of optimized pricing and contracting strategies for national/local reimbursement.
  • Oversee pricing governance to ensure alignment with all key stakeholders as it relates to establishing price, adjusting price and best price and other related elements
  • Oversee the access negotiations globally to ensure alignment with the global market access strategy, value proposition and pricing.
  • Support all US market access activities including successful obtainment of HCPCS code for the blood product.
  • Create, optimize the global value story to support the payer assessment and minimize barriers to access
  • Monitor market access landscape: Analysis of the access landscape and potential changes in health policy and/or legislation that might impact
  • Partners with Medical Affairs to critically evaluate available literature and generate plans to address evidence gaps needed for successful launch globally.
  • Provide input into clinical development programs to capture value, align to what is meaningful, support a differentiated TPP, and ensure the right evidence is collected to support reimbursement and pricing negotiations.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic commercial plans in short-, medium- and long-term increments considering differences in markets, varying product life cycles, regions and countries, product availability, investments, resources, product positioning, defined strategies, prices, commercial and financial goals.
  • Effectively manages agency relationships ensuring access programs are delivered on time and within budget.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, collaborate, drive performance, build alignment, inform, and negotiate.
  • Deep knowledge of pricing and reimbursement systems especially in USA, Europe, and Japan.
  • Proven track record in pricing, reimbursement, and market access across major global markets
  • Strong understanding of payer value drivers within rare disease, or oncology; able to lead prioritization and trade-off decisions based on depth of knowledge of market access landscape within specialty therapeutics, and or cell therapies.
  • Knowledge of market access KPIs and how the value proposition is delivered to payers on a global scale
  • Previous success influencing coverage decisions in biotherapeutics, and/or medical devices.
  • Working acumen of coding convention for multiple settings of care, including hospital inpatient, and outpatient
  • Understanding of all relevant legal, compliance, regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Entrepreneurial, energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic, decisive, and self-motivated; possesses a sense of urgency with the ability and strong desire to “make things happen.”
  • Proven experience successfully managing budgets.
  • Strong project management skills specifically in developing schedules and maintaining deadlines
  • Proven communication skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft product suite)

Skill Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with at least 7 years specifically in market access.
  • Recent experience developing and implementing access strategies for novel product launches.
  • Industry:
  • 7+ years of direct experience working in a similar role at a therapeutics/med device company, where patient focus is priority #1
  • 7 years of experience in rare disease, oncology, or blood and cell therapies is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline. Master’s degree a plus.

  • Ability to travel domestically and international approximately 30%-40% of the time
  • Location- position can be remote for the right candidate
